terms & conditions
Appointments
Whilst every care will be taken to ensure that the pupil receives the training at the requested time and with the instructor as booked, all bookings are made on the understanding that the school is not responsible for the postponement of training due to adverse weather conditions, mechanical breakdown of equipment, absence of staff or any other cause. Neither can the school be responsible for driving test appointments postponed by the DVSA. Lessons will start and finish at the agreed location. Lessons are a minimum of 1 hour in duration, but your instructor can offer longer periods if required.
Driving Lesson Deposit
All new pupils to 828 Driving School must pay a £35 deposit prior to starting a lesson. This is a fully refundable deposit. The pupil will hold the right to ask for their deposit back at anytime. However, if the pupil does not give the appropriate notice to cancel or re-schedule a lesson they will forfeit this right and lose their deposit. A deposit must be paid before an appointment is made.
Payments
Please pay your instructor before the start of each lesson. Cheques should be made payable to your instructor and accompanied by a cheque guaranteed card. If you have bought any lessons from 828 Driving School online shop then please retain your reference number.
Refunds
Prepaid lessons, courses and gift vouchers are non-refundable if the trainee cancels any prepaid block or course that have already commenced, then the lesson will be lost. Intensive course deposits are non-refundable. All pre-paid lessons courses and gift vouchers MUST commence within three months (90 DAYS) from purchase otherwise the value of the lessons will be forfeited and no refund will be given.
If you would like a refund from an online purchase you must produce the reference number given to you at the time of purchase. If this cannot be provided then no refund will be given.
If you have purchased a block of lessons for someone else, please inform them of the terms and conditions.
Block booking, courses and gift vouchers are none transferable, or for sale to a third party. Any unwanted gifts must be returned within one month (30 DAYS) of purchase, to obtain a refund. You must return the voucher (if applicable). Refunds will be made by BACS and a 35% handling fee will be charged.
Prices
The price of lessons will be stated from the outset. Price increases will be made when absolutely necessary and you will be notified well in advance of any such changes.
Cancellations
If you wish to cancel a lesson, you must notify your instructor 48 hours (2 days) prior to your lesson. If for any reason you are unable to give adequate notice, we reserve the right to charge for the lost lesson.
In addition a re-scheduled lesson is also considered a cancellation. Therefore 48 hours (2 days) must be given if you would like to change you lesson date and time.
All pupils that cancel without giving 48 hours (2 days) notice will lose their £35 deposit. The pupil will then be required to pay another £35 deposit before the next lesson. If the pupil has prepaid for a block of lessons the the prepaid lesson fee will be deducted and the deposit will remain.
Theory & Practical Tests
Your instructor will advise you when to book you tests and how to prepare for them. The school reserves the right to withhold training vehicles for driving test if, in the instructors opinion, the pupil does not reach the required standard.
On the day of your practical test, you will be charged for the use of your instructors car. This fee usually covers 2 hours, but may vary due to locality and distances involved. In the event of your test being cancelled by the DVSA, you may apply to them for a refund of the test fee and also the cost using the car. All tests must be paid before the school books any tests given by the DVSA.
Fitness To Drive
If for any reason, your instructor feels you are unfit to drive, your less will be forfeited and you may still be charged. N.B. Some prescription medications can seriously reduce your ability to concentrate. Always check the label and consult your doctor, if necessary.
Code Of Conduct
Your instructor has been highly trained and had passed the DVSA’s strict examinations. Instructor’s standards are also checked periodically by the agency. Your instructor will always act in a professionals manner, and provide a well-cared for and highly maintained vehicle. Whilst every effort will be made to keep good time, road and traffic conditions, bad weather or mechanical problems may cause unavoidable delays in your instructors schedule. Your instructor will try to make up any lost time to you or arrange another lesson as soon as possible and at your convenience.
